Emergency Education Cluster Coordinator (Co-chair) (Save the Children Denmark)

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (with travel to Somalia/Somaliland)
Reports To: The Coordinator shall report to Deputy Country Director of Save the Children Denmark
Salary: As per Save the Children Denmark’s salary grade and scale.

Save the Children shares global responsibility for the Education Cluster Lead with UNICEF as part of the UN humanitarian reform (www.humanitarianreform.org). The Emergency Education Cluster Coordinator will together with his/her counterpart in UNICEF be responsible for coordinating emergency education activities in Somalia within the cluster approach.

Deputy Country Director Vietnam (Save the Children in Vietnam)

Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Closing Date: 30th September 2008 (5 p.m, Hanoi time (GMT + 6))

Save the Children in Vietnam (SC) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support; Education; Child protection; Child-focused emergency preparedness and response; Child rights agenda, including Civil society development, Economic opportunities and Child poverty Research, and Integrated Child Development; and Advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.

We are looking for a qualified person for the position of Deputy Country Director. This is a senior management position, which offers excellent opportunities for professional development through exchange with other teams within Save the Children and for involvement in decision making within the organisation in-country and internationally. The position is initially offered for 2 years, with possible extension. The successful candidate will be based in Hanoi and supervise two Directors of Programmes, sector head for HIV and AIDS, sector head for Health and Nutrition, and Advocacy and Programme Development Associate Director..
