The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC), adopted by the United Nations in 1989 and now ratified by nearly all countries worldwide, has its roots in the pioneering work of Save the Children founder Eglantyne Jebb.

Eglantyne made a significant contribution to the text to the "Declaration on the Rights of the Child" which was adopted by the League of Nations and was later used as the basis for the UN CRC. She was the first to press for worldwide safeguards for children, to place the rights of children at the heart of international thinking. And, we fight just as hard for children today.
