As the rainy season sets in - bringing with it the threat of floods, mudslides and deadly waterborne diseases — Haiti is entering a second critical emergency.
Displaced children are very vulnerable. And in a country where, before the earthquake, a quarter of children under age five were malnourished, newborns in particular now face an even greater struggle to survive.
Three months since the devastating earthquake on 12 January, Save the Children has established 16 special “baby tents” to meet the critical needs of infants and their mothers in temporary settlements in the quake-affected zone.
These tents provide a vital lifeline for the quake’s youngest survivors.
