 Photography Competition

The photography competition which was held in 2007 saw entries from as young as 11years old entering with exciting photographs. With the kind financial support from Colonial, Fiji Development Bank & TNT the awards were in eight categories and judged accordingly, Brightest Smile award, Playtime award, Funny Faces award, Mischievous Look award, Portrait award, Peace & Hope award, It’s a Small World award, Age of Innocence award. The winning photographs were then used by Colonial Bank marketing division in their 2009 corporate calendar. This however will be an annual event that we would like to see continue as part of SC Fiji’s fundraising

Save the Children Fiji Coin Drive

This is an on-going initiative by ANZ Bank Nadi Airport branch and Tappoo group of Companies. This initiative started by the staff of the airport branch who though that it was a great idea to set up coin collection boxes so that visitors leaving our shores can deposit their coins. All coin boxes are then counted on a monthly basis and deposited into the Save the Children Fiji account. Discussions are in progress to initiate the fundraising drive to other ANZ & Tappoo outlets around Fiji.

Red & White Charity Ball

For the first time ever, Save the Children Fiji held a Charity Ball at the Tradewinds Convention Centre on Saturday 3rd May, and in keeping with the traditional colors it was decided that red & white be used as the theme. The event which turned out to be a great success was attributed to the great sponsorship that was received by the corporates who generously assisted financially or in kind. The evening entertainment was graced by the Fiji Police Jazz Band with exciting prizes for grabs and wonderful items auctioned. This was a truly memorable evening for all who attended and this has now become an annual event on Save the Children Fiji’s Fundraising calendar.

Christmas cards

Save the Children Fiji, Christmas card sales have been an ongoing fundraising drive. This year the sales of Christmas cards were launched in early June to allow corporates to make decisions on the type of cards they require and also it gave corporates ample time to mail their cards to their clients. Save the Children Fiji is also looking at various marketing concepts to continue this tradition to generate more revenue.

Save the Children Fiji 2009 Calendars

Following the Photography competition Save the Children Fiji designed a 2009 calendar to utilize the photos. The calendars which are on sale are $5.00 each. The colorful calendars portrayed some of the talented young photographers that Fiji has. The youngest that entered the competition was a 12 year old from Nadi. The money raised from the sales will help Save the Children Fiji become more active in its role in Fiji .

An event that we held was held in August, saw corporates compete against each other.
