Project Manager (DRR)

Reporting to the Program Manager Development, the Project Manager (DRR) is responsible for the overall management and successful implementation of Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR) in Fiji project. This position is responsible for the implementation of activities of the New Zealand’s Direct Aid Programme grant in partnership with Save the New Zealand – “Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR) in Fiji”. This position in partnership with the Fiji Government and selected Civil Society partners will implement a programme of institutional strengthening, technical support and community-based disaster risk reduction activities. This includes assuring time-frames, required deliverables/outcomes, both technical and managerial requirements are met and managing relevant government/ stakeholder and donor liaison requirements.

Project Officer (DRR) x3

Reporting to the Project Manager (DRR), Project Officer’s (DRR) is responsible for the implementation of activities under New Zealand’s Direct Aid Programme grant in partnership with Save the Children New Zealand – “Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) in Fiji”. Working closely with the Fiji Government and selected Civic Society partners with the beneficiaries in the target areas for the Child Centred Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) project. The incumbent will be directly engaged in ensuring child-centered approaches are embedded in DRR/CC planning and response including legal frameworks, governance and budgets, high-risk communities embeds child centered approaches to DRR/DRM in Community Development Planning, Child-safe evacuation centres have access to prepositioned supplies for children, children participate in DRR planning at school and in the community.

Senior Project Officer (DRR)

Reporting to the Project Manager (DRR), the Senior Project Officer (DRR) is responsible for the implementation of activities under New Zealand’s Direct Aid Programme grant in partnership with Save the Children New Zealand – “Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) in Fiji”. Working closely with the Fiji Government and selected Civic Society partners with the beneficiaries in the target areas for the Child Centred Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) project. The incumbent will implement a programme to support, coordinate and embed child-centered policies and practises, work with high-risk communities to mainstream child-centered approaches into DRR planning, ensure that evacuation centres and response personnel can meet children’s needs during emergency events and deliver disaster risk reduction and resilience education in the formal and informal education sector.

Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer (DRR)

Reporting to the Project Manager (DRR), the MEAL Officer (DRR) is responsible for undertaking monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities under New Zealand’s Direct Aid Programme grant in partnership with Save the Children New Zealand – “Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) in Fiji”. Working closely with the Fiji Government and selected Civic Society partners with the beneficiaries in the target areas for the Child Centred Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) project. The incumbent will monitor and advise the quality of the CDRR project. He/she will serve as a focal point and liaison for carrying out monitoring surveys; undertake focused group discussions and evaluation assessments in the communities where this project works. The incumbent will serve as a focal point for liaising with the project team members to prepare and support any required assessments, surveys, focused group discussions, other community engagements. The incumbent will ensure these are carried out to a high quality standard and the data used to inform programme development and improvement.

Finance Officer (DRR)

Reporting to the Project Manager (DRR), the Finance Officer (DRR) is responsible for delivering an effective financial system to maintain high quality delivery and mitigate risk under New Zealand’s Direct Aid Programme grant in partnership with Save the Children New Zealand – “Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) in Fiji”. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for the overall financial functions and reporting for the project to the donor, The Finance Officer’s responsibilities will also include accounting and record all financial transactions into the finance system, preparing payments (cash & cheques), meet all financial deadlines, keep financial documents as per the required standards of SC Fiji. Reporting directly to the Project Manager and Finance Manager, the FO will provide strong support to the CDRR team, especially with the capacity building of staff to ensure a strong understanding of the financial policies and procedures of the organisation.
