Gina Houng Lee is a gender and development consultant. A Fijian national, Gina has extensive experience in the area of human rights and women’s rights advocacy. Ms Houng Lee has over twenty years working in development in Fiji and the Pacific. She previously served as a Senior Human Rights Co-ordinator at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, Regional Rights Resource Team (SPC RRRT) and as the Co-ordinator of Fiji Women’s Rights Movement. This position involved advocacy and program oversight of addressing violence against women legislation in the Pacific.  Ms Houng Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts from Auckland University and a Masters in Development Studies from the University of the South Pacific. She was previously on the board of Leadership Fiji, Fiji Women’s Rights Movement and the Asia Pacific Forum for Women Law and Development. In her current position, she is the Gender Specialist at the Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) Support Unit. Pacific Women is a DFAT program addressing gender equality in the region.
